The representation of three-dimensional objects on a surface so as to produce the same impression of distance and relative size as that received by the human eye is a practical definition of perspective. Now imagine the perspective created by a portable, inexpensive three-dimensional immersive viewing system that could be useful in a variety of real-world applications.
Not much opinion from me since I have to prepare for a hurricane, but I think I would get one if only I could assure nobody else saw that I owned one. Geek++.

Bargain PDA has a review of the new HP rx1950 Pocket PC and after reading through it I think it is almost time for me to make my move towards a PDA or smartphone. I already have to phones and don’t feel like going through the hassle of renewing contracts and all of that, but also don’t think I am up to carrying around three different devices.

With the amount of digital information homes are storing it is inevitable that alongside every desktop PC will be some sort of massive storage unit. However, any decent solutions only offer a couple hundred gigabytes of storage and those in the terabyte range seem to be pretty expensive. Maxtor sees an opening that needs to be filled and they are looking to do it with their OneTouch III Turbo line of external storage devices.
The device can work in either a RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration and offers up to 1TB of storage capacity. A triple interface (FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0) makes it accessible to all modern PCs.
I could actually say something about these, but I was so shocked to even see another MD player released this year, let alone the same day as Sony’s that there isn’t much for me to say. I mean, MD players are still MD players.

Sony. Why Sony why? Why in your right mind would you release another Mini-Disc player based off of your proprietary mini-disc format? Do they even sell MDs anymore anywhere? I never see them in the US, but maybe they are still huge in other places. Whatever, here is the scoop on Sony’s latest.
The XM-C17 from JVC will be available in 3 colors- Silver, Blue and Red. Continual playback of approximately 11 hours is possible with 20% charge. The portable MD player has quick charge “function”. The boosting charge time, can be viewed in the liquid crystal display of the player as well as on the remote control. Approximately continual playback of 250 hours (LP4 mode) is possible while using 3 alkaline cells.
I don’t use a wireless mouse (or at least haven’t done so in a long time) so I don’t understand the problem they were having with their mouse.
Ever cursed your swanky new wireless mouse for skipping or just not moving when you want it to?
Sounds like you have a cheap mouse and should probably get a new one. If you don’t wish to do so then you should consider Elecom’s solution, which doesn’t seem to be too wireless since from the pictures it looks like you will need a USB cable to connect to the mouse pad.
I have already written a bit on this comparison before, but that was before the launch of the iPod Video. Now that it is finally out it is much easier to compare the specs between the two to see how they match up.
With Sony’s PSP you have a growing collection of UMD movies to purchase, which gives you a great option for portable movie watching. In contrast, with the video iPod you are able to download over 2,000 music videos along with select TV shows at the cost of just $1.99.

Last June PC makerAOpen displayed a small PC-compatible desktop computer that closely resembled Apple’s Mac mini. Now the company plans to put them into product, and says the tiny PC will hit store shelves in time for Christmas at prices starting at US$399.
The small system features a low profile and compact dimensions, along with a front slot-loading optical drive. They were first unveiled by Intel earlier this year as part of an effort to spur interest in using Intel’s Pentium M microprocessor in small desktops intended for living rooms and entertainment centers.

Apple didn’t announce new PowerMacs or Powerbooks as many people expected, but they did come out with a new iMac. The new 20″ is thinner than the original 17″ used to be, which makes it pretty thin for an all-in-one desktop. It includes a built-in iSight camera with even better specs than previous versions.
Software-wise they have introduced Front Row which allows you to experience all the media on your computer with the use of a new six button remote. Don’t know how useful this is if it’s supposed to be used across the room. Possibly just gearing up toward the Home Theater PC that everyone expects from Apple.
