Cost-wise the Nintendo Wii is the cheapest buy at $250. The next would be Microsoft’s $399 costing Xbox 360. But the winner with the costliest tag are the two versions of Sony PlayStation 3, a $499 entry-level and $599 higher-end machine.

A Robot That Adapts To Injury

Putting the long-held belief that robots are programmed rigid is a new robot that can learn to adapt to its injury! Cornell researchers have built a robot that quite like a human baby teaches itself to walk. Then, when damaged, it teaches itself to limp.

Instead of giving the robot a rigid set of instructions, the researchers let it discover its own nature and work out how to control itself, a process that seems to resemble the way human and animal babies discover and manipulate their bodies. The ability to build this “self-model” is what makes it able to adapt to injury.

Microsoft’s Up One In The Zune iPod War

What problem does iPod and Zune have in common - the music piracy issues that crop up with file sharing through their respective wireless devices. Microsoft is also in talks with other record labels and this is a major headway against the established iPod of Apple. Chris Stephenson, general manager of global marketing for Microsoft Entertainment, said that a royalty-based licensing deal should provide it with more freedom to allow song-sharing or other promotions.
