You want to know one of the major reasons why the iPod will continue to own the mp3 market? It’s all about the accessories that you can buy for it. You don’t see companies lining up to create any accessories for Creative’s products. The more toys you can add to your toy the more popular it will become. Sort of like Windows and that whole “all my apps run on it” type of thing.
Griffin Technology Inc. on Friday announced it is shipping the iFM for iPod, an FM receiver, remote control and audio recorder for the iPod. The iFM costs US$49.99.
It works on 3rd and 4th generation iPod and iPod photos as well as iPod minis. Even cooler is that you can use it as an audio recorder in conjunction with a 3rd or 4th-gen iPod.
It looks to be an aluminum case that wraps around the iPod and I like the huge LED display that it uses. However, it’s still just FM radio. When is someone going to do an iPod with Satellite radio? That’s where it’s at people. Not just a device that does Satellite radio, but one that can switch between the songs on my iPod to Howard Stern on Sirius.
That’s why we only allow super geniuses to write on this site. Who else could think of something like that?
