Those of you expecting to cozy up in front of your TV with a bucket of popcorn and your iTunes library at the end of this month will have to wait a little longer. Think Secret is reporting that the AppleTV ship date has been bumped from Feb. 20 to the beginning of March. No reason’s given for the delay, but if any speculation’s ever accurate, it’s speculation about a delay.
You can soon expect to pick up a free song of your choice from iTunes with every concert ticket you buy at Ticketmaster. No gimmicks, no catches. Buy a concert ticket, get any track you want, gratis.
The other side of the promotion extends a program where last year, for example, pre-orders of Stadium Arcadium from iTunes got RHCP fans early access to tickets. By pre-ordering “select digital albums,” you’ll get a crack at that artist’s tickets before the rest of the non-iTunes-using barbarians do. No word yet on which artists are participating, though…
Apple(R) Inc. and The Beatles’ company Apple Corps Ltd. are pleased to announce the parties have entered into a new agreement concerning the use of the name “Apple” and apple logos which replaces their 1991 Agreement. Under this new agreement, Apple Inc. will own all of the trademarks related to “Apple” and will license certain of those trademarks back to Apple Corps for their continued use. In addition, the ongoing trademark lawsuit between the companies will end, with each party bearing its own legal costs, and Apple Inc. will continue using its name and logos on iTunes(R). The terms of settlement are confidential.
Think Secret is re-emphasizing that displays in smaller MacBook Pros and possibly MacBooks will be backlit with LEDs by the second quarter of this year, if not as early as this this quarter. Though the LED-backlit systems are already in development, the question remains as to whether production will begin in time to make a Q1 launch—a Q2 launch looks more likely.
The iPod shuffle is now available in pink, green, blue and orange but it still costs the same: $79. The tiny 1GB player is still available in its original silver color, too. Apple sent out press releases this morning detaling the 5 colors and how it would still run native on both systems. There would be no problem, just more choice for people to have. In seeing them, I have to admit… they are sexy.

Macworld released a lot of new apple products, but the LED’s didn’t show up. However AppleInsider is reporting that it’s much less of a rumor. The LED backlit laptop eats up a lot less batter power, making them a lot more efficient. The 15-inch will be the first released, with the other models afterward. It’s no shock that apple is holding back some of it’s products for the spring launch of Leopard. It will help showcase the new operating system. The exact dates are unknown, but an industry source swears by the possibility of their release. Apple releasing power saving laptops, is another step trying to set themselves apart with LED lighting.

So who won the holiday market iPod or Zune? Apple’s iPod and iTunes simply crushed Zune! It seems not many bothered to get a Zune for anyone this holidays they sticked to their iPods and iTunes this month!
Zune had its share of glory but that was when it launched in November but in December iPod maintained its lead and hold on the market. Christmas saw Apple’s download site for iTunes bomabarded with requests thereby sending their servers down.
