HP Maybach.

Following on from the Ferrari-Acer tie-up and the Lamborghini-Asus, here comes another.

German über-limousine company Maybach and Hewlett-Packard have gone all loved-up on us with the NS42. For $4,000 you get a leather-trimmed notebook, complete with Maybach logo, sensory buttons with amber-colored lighting under the touchpad and a spanky case with wheels, seven-speed gearbox and sunroof. Pics and info are from Russian site Tech2, and the most we can get on the specs side is an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, built-in SSD-store of 64 GB and video adaptor.

HP Making A Basemodel Laptop

Not everyone is down with latest and greatest hardware — or they just can’t afford it — and it’s definitely not the dual-core-and-SLI crowd HP is targeting with its new HP 510 laptop. The 15-incher features just about what you’d expect from a $565 notebook computer, so specs like ‘Celeron M.’ ‘integrated graphics,’ and ‘1GB max RAM’ should come as little surprise. You’re still getting all the basics here, though, including a 60GB hard drive, b/g WiFi, a passable WXGA resolution and 512MB of RAM, and a DVD combo drive. Not one we’d show off to the ladies or anything, but it’ll get the job done, and it’s available immediately.

Samsung Aura

Classy Laptop: Samsung Aura

Samsung has never really been super competitive in the US market. Samsung is trying to change that by introducing the Aura. This black laptop is a Core 2 Duo or Celeron proccesor. It’s not heavy and 5.2 lbs. You can upgrade this monster through the roof honestly. It’ll be something that if you go up to the 4gb of ram, it would last you a good few years. Something to consider when it comes out in the USA.

More Speculation That LED Displays for Apple Laptops Coming This Year

Think Secret is re-emphasizing that displays in smaller MacBook Pros and possibly MacBooks will be backlit with LEDs by the second quarter of this year, if not as early as this this quarter. Though the LED-backlit systems are already in development, the question remains as to whether production will begin in time to make a Q1 launch—a Q2 launch looks more likely.

Ergonomic Mouse Can’t Reinvent Wheel

Ergo mouseEveryonce in a while someone tries to reinvent the wheel when it comes to a gadget. Some excel, and some fail. This particular product fails at everything it attempts.

This new mouse stands on it’s side, the company says that it is a more natural way for someone to use their hand. I, for one beg to differ. Using my scroll wheel like a trigger isn’t something I need, and dragging the side of my hand doesn’t seem more benficial. I don’t have a clue how this thing helps me. I’d rather need a handcast than ever be caught using this. However, if you like wrist joints in tact, it comes in at $63

Should You Own A Laser Printer?

Laser printerLaser Printers have always been an office staple, since prices were so high. They became such an aid to print lots of copies at a high rate, and less crumple on the paper. However, as the prices drop, should you be in the market for a laser printer? Here is a few questions to ask yourself.

Do I print a large volume of pages? Some people don’t print often, but when they do it’s a large amount of paper. Sitting next to the old inkjet for an hour just isn’t fun. You can’t leave due to paper jams. Lasers also print 2 sided effortlessly, so they look much more professional.
